Le carburant de l'Airbus A320-200 est contenu dans un réservoir central d'une capacité de 6 500 kg (8 250 litres) et dans quatre réservoirs d'aile. Dans chaque aile, un réservoir extérieur de 700 kg (880 litres) communique avec un réservoir intérieur de 5 560 kg (7 041 litres) par deux vannes placées automatiquement sur ouverture dès que le carburant dans l'un des réservoirs intérieurs atteint 750 kg. Les deux réservoirs intérieurs d'aile et le réservoir central possèdent chacun deux pompes. En utilisation normale chaque réacteur est alimenté par les deux pompes situées de son côté et par une pompe du réservoir central.
